You can cut a nick out like this to turn the blade. Another (easier) method if you're using a jigsaw is to cut the straight line, as here, and go past the mark; then go back and cut a wide ark and meet up with the overcut. A cresent shaped piece falls out, and you can fit the jigsaw blade in that slot.
