I want to start by thanking Greg Ryan for all of the work he has done for the
class. In addition to writing and rewriting the rules, he has been one of
the main advisors. We have spent hours on the phone debating issues regarding
these rules and his insight has been superb.
We've, posted the new rules on the website "rules" page. I'm having trouble
with the site editor right now and there is one problem with the spinnaker
measurement method. Where it now reads--- i. Half Girth measurement.
The
half girth measurement shall be defined as the length from the edge of leech
to the edge of the luff along the girth line defined by folding the sail in
half by positioning the head of the sail to meet the clew. The half girth
measurement shall not exceed 4.065m. (13ft 4inches) it should read--to the
edge of
the luff along the girth line defined by folding the sail in half by
positioning the head of the sail to meet the center of the foot at the bottom
of the
roach. I'll get it changed soon.
Some of you haven't returned the license agreements to me yet and I'll need
those soon.
The bow profile pattern that I sent out has been causing unnecessary
difficulties because it lacks a clear reference point. I'll be sending out a
new one
to all 47 of you.
I've been working on two rigging manuals. One will simply be an aid to help
complete the boat for those who intend to buy completed spars and blades. It
will be sent out free of charge with your Ronstan parts order. A much more
complex manual that describes the process of assembling your own mast,
spreaders, mast bases, booms, vangs, mainsheet fitting, etc., will be available
for a
fee with template patterns that you tape on to the mast for drilling the
fitting holes. The cost of this manual will be whatever the printing and
postage
costs are.
Again, I need those license agreements before sending out further manuals, or
addendum's.
Best regards,
Bram
