I'm running a couple of days late on the spinnaker socks that were supposed
to go out on Monday. I think I'll get them mailed tomorrow if the weather is
decent enough to travel to Seattle (might snow). I'm using a new type of
marine Velcro on both ends of the sock now and it is a bit hard to get
(Seattle). You'll find it far superior to regular Velcro when it gets wet.
Anyone else needing one of these socks before the regatta in Florida needs
to order it right away (use either pay pal on the site or send a check to
place your order) . The sweat shop is closing very soon until after the
regatta.
We'll have prices on boat covers by tomorrow evening (The Banks loft in
Portland that did our sails has a subsidiary that makes covers and awnings)
We'll
need to order these ten at a time (I need a couple) and hopefully the price
will be good enough that we can get an order together for me to bring to
Florida.
We now have 13 Swift Solos that intend to make it to Florida (I'll print the
list soon)--imagine 13 Swifts on the water at the same time. We've invited
two of the best skiff sailors in the country (David Fagen and Dalton Bergan)
to help with the clinic and to sail my other two Swifts. They are working on
clearing their schedules and will let me know soon. These guys will be
great assets to the class not only because of their skiff sailing knowledge,
but
they are very good instructors.
We're working on sponsors for the regatta and various diners, barbecues,
trophies etc.(we'll have some nice sailing items for "most improved", "most
innovative", "best capsize", "best swimmer" and who knows--we may even have
something for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd).
Do let Roger know right away if you need him to make any parts for your
boat. Also, let me know if I can help in any way.
Best regards,
Bram
