You can get hybrid at US composites (link on the site).  You  definitely want 
to use hybrid or kevlar under your carbon on blades.  Don't  use it on outer 
layers because it will turn into a mess.  Straight carbon  over foam will lead 
to failure at the bottom of the trunk.  Carbon hates  side loading and 
fractures easily.  Kevlar's strong suit is side loading  (they use it on bullet 
proof vests) and it will disburse the load at the bottom  of the trunk and 
cassette and keep the carbon from fracturing.  It  will also keep your trailing 
edge 
from fracturing.
 
I always lay up the entire blade in one process.  Just did one today  (see 
PDF that I'll send tomorrow--got to work on a list for Greg first).
