Your picture is the way I did the jig.  I used a cedar strip and drilled
some holes for a nail for the fixed end and then a hole for a pencil and
drew it on a 2x10.  Here is a picture of the jig I used.    I probably
should have used tape around the wet strips before clamping in the press.
It would have helped the strips sliding around.  I could have also used a
smaller width, closer to the finished width.
