Boy Mark, sorry to hear that your's is so SHORT! I'll forward some "tiller
enhancement" email I've received to you.

Actually, 34" to 36" from the rudder box is normal with the tiller extension
back about 4 1/2" to 5". I'm currently trying a tiller that is 4" shorter
because I moved my spin sheet leads aft. Trouble is, the weather has been
extraordinarily cold up here and I've not given the combination enough of a
test
to have an opinion yet. If it works, there is not much involved in the
modification if you decide you want to go that way (Warren, I'd suggest that
you
stay with these longer measurements).

It's probably time I write a PDF "how to" on pulling in and retrofitting
backing plates on completed Swifts anyway. The tiller mod just requires
cutting
and refinishing the end and remounting the extensions.

Best regards,
Bram

Warren,

Mine is 34 3/4" from the leading edge of the rudder box, with the tiller
extensions centered at 29 5/8". If you got your foam blank from Greg it
should be the correct length. If I remember correctly Bram had said his
was a bit longer, but guys are always stretching the truth when it comes to
length.

Mark
