I'm in. I wouldn't miss it.

Also it will be time for the AGM. Be thinking of who you would like to lead the class for the next year or so. I think it is time for someone else to take over the reins.

And yes it would be nice to know how much for spouses and family. I might be bringing the whole gang again.

SWIFT SOLO NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 'O9

HUNTINGTON LAKE, CALIFORNIA

It's time to commit to the sunny days in California. Chris and I have
been working to finalize the '09 championships. Following are the
details:

LOCATION: HUNTINGTON LAKE.

Nestled in the Sierras, at 7,000 ft, the lake is surrounded by granite
peaks and pine trees, offering the best and most consistent sailing on
the west coast. Each day in the summer a thermal wind rolls in as
regular as clockwork building from 9 to 18 knots, calming by 6:00 pm.
Add to the goods a launching ramp, a beach to pull the boats up on,
great camping, good weather (sunny nearly every day), and good racing,
it's a hard place to beat. Check it out at
http://www.huntingtonresort.com/ <http://www.huntingtonresort.com/>

WHEN: Monday, JULY 13th - Friday, JULY 17th

SCHEDULE: Boats arrive weekend of July 11th -12th

CLINIC: Monday and Tuesday, July 13th -14th

Bram has graciously agreed to run the clinic on Monday and Tuesday.
This is a great opportunity for freshmen to take a huge leap forward and
for others to really hone up on their skills. Chris and I have already
committed to this. Bram is not racing now and is making a special trip
to Huntington to run this clinic. There is a small bay to the north of
the launch site which should provide a more sheltered water to practice
on.

RACING: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, July 15th -17th

Hosted dinner and awards on Friday evening, July 17th

Boats depart the weekend of July 18th -19th.

COST: $155.00 per person for the week, which covers racing, dinner,
prizes, t-shirt, chase boat (does not include the CLINIC, which is an
additional $100.00 per person). The registration form is attached to
this email.

ACCOMMODATIONS:

CAMPING - there are several camp sites in the area of the launch ramp.
Numerous camp sites can be found at the following web address:

http://www.fs.fed.us/r5/sierra/recreation/interestplaces/huntingtonlake.
shtml

* College Campground is the closest campsite and near the road, however, there is limited availability. * Deer Creek Campground is located to the west by the small bay * Rancheria Campground is not recommended * Huntington Lake Resort: right by the ramp. Very rustic cabins. The small cabins are very small. The resort includes an old resort, general store, restaurant and bar. Check it out at the web page http://www.huntingtonresort.com/ * Hotel - Tamarack Lodge is about 5 miles from the ramp. Check it out on the web at http://www.tamarackmotorlodge.com/ * Cabins and Homes - These can be rented. A broker who deals with summer rentals is http://www.shaverlake.com/ * FOOD: The lake has very limited resources. The closest town is Shafer Lake which is 22 miles, about a third of the way down the hill.

PAYMENT: Please complete the attached form and send with your check to
Warren no later than December 31st. The payment for the clinic will be
required by March 31st.

NUMBERS: WE NEED AT LEAST 12 BOATS TO MAKE THIS REGATTA WORK!! WE ARE
INVITING THE MUSTOS AND HOPE TO REPEAT THE GREAT TIME THAT WE HAD AT
FORT DESOTO THIS YEAR. WE HAVE MADE AN APPLICATION TO FRESNO YACHT CLUB
AND NEED TO GET THE FIRST DEPOSIT $250 IN BY DECEMBER 31st. THIS IS
NON-REFUNDABLE.

Paul O'Sullivan
