This is my scarfing jig. The support on the end is two pieces of strip stacked on top of each other. When scarfing, I just align the end of the strip to be scarfed with where the solid platform ends (as in this picture). The only thing to be sure of with this jig is that the strip you're scarfing goes in the middle, otherwise the belt will move sideways.
