Trying to find the centreline. At first, I put the laser line on the tripod, but the problem with that is that the plane created by the laser line can interset the points on the transom and bowpiece, but it may not be perfectly vertical to the hull - and thus is slightly out at the deepest point in the hull. Putting the laser on the hull itself at least reduces (but does not eliminate) this problem.
