When I compressed all the pieces together, I didn't think that the different lengths would cause problems. It did. Because of the lengths, the bottom of the centre piece wasn't flat. So I sanded off the part sticking up, and to make it smoother I applied another layer of epoxy to the area. The second layer of hybrid is mostly to add width, not strength, so cutting through it isn't a big deal, but I wanted a clean interior for the board.
