The inside width of the trunk is slightly under 1½ inches, and if anything, I want it to be slightly over 1½ inches. So, I used my jigsaw to cut a piece of the hybrid/cedar in half through the cedar. The two pieces aren't perfectly flat - the jigsaw bends a bit while it's cutting - but I flattened them out on the belt sander and they're pretty good.
