Now I have to drill the holes into the chainplate block. I have markings on the top of the block, and I transferred them to the bottom. I drilled from the bottom to the top, because the bottom has a slight bevel, and this will make the bolts point towards the top of the mast ever so slightly. Here, I've clamped the bottom edge parallel to the 2x4s (because the bottom is also bevelled along it's width), and I'm about ready to drill.
