Meanwhile I cut the trailing edge of the boom. This should be 1” at the tip, gradually increasing to 1 1/2”, then the radius starts. The vertical part is 3” from the end. Mine didn't quite turn out that way (I should have held the boom *up*, not let it rest on the floor, what was I thinking?) but overall I'm happy with the result.
