The black side goes down. The tall skinny thing should point toward the
sun.
Seriously, those cartopping black bottomed Swifts in the summer should use a
bottom cover (assuming you turn the boat upside down). Incidentally, the
graphite / epoxy is a better bottom than the two part linear polyurethane.
Keep in mind, however, that two part is still better than the polyester gel
coat
that comes on 98% of all boats made. Nothing that I've seen approaches that
toughness of the Graphite powder in epoxy once it has cured.
