  Regarding what to use on tiller extensions.

  I prefer self adhering cork bicycle grip tape--the kind used on virtually all 
high quality road bikes.  It does wear out after a season or two.  An 
alternative is shrink tubing of the proper size.  I get it at my local hardware 
store.
