Let me start by saying that if I've promised you anything that I've not
delivered, I apologize and please remind me. I've been running on 3 cylinders
but am now better.
Those needing sails in the next six months should contact me in the next
couple of weeks. We need to get our order in soon.
On the website is the list of nominations for our class officers. If there
are others that you'd like to nominate, please make those nominations
quickly. On the 19th we will be calling for an email vote for our first slate
of
officers.
Judging from some email I've received, a little clarification is maybe in
order. Our class (ISSA) is now a formal organization and is being turned over
to you, our members, and new officers. I have no intention of reducing my
involvement--just the contrary. With your help, we have an opportunity to
make
a significant contribution to skiff sailing over the next couple of years.
The combination of help from other knowledgeable sailors / designers and
extraordinary luck in the design of the Swift Solo, and a lot of free
publicity,
have put our class at the brink of attracting a large number of sailors back
to the sport of dinghy and high performance sailing. With a great cast of
class officers and your continued high level of volunteerism, my effort will
be
focused on making sure that we take advantage of this opportunity to take
our class to the next level. I've never be more convinced than now that we're
the right class in the right place at the right time. We'll be working hard
to finalize our marketing strategy to ensure that we get in front of as many
potential Swift Solo sailors as possible. It is truly an exciting time for
our class.
Best regards,
Bram
