ONE-DESIGN SURVEY COMPLETED
In conjunction with the 2004 One-Design Symposium, US SAILING joined forces with Sailing World magazine to survey one-design classes to determine trends in class racing. The results of the survey and the analysis are now posted. Check out how your class faired - http://www.assailing.org/ODCC/2004One-DesignSurveyAnalysis.htm.
The next One-Design Sailing Symposium will be held Nov. 19-20 in Annapolis. An updated survey will be presented annually at the Symposium. Watch the web for details - http://www.ussailing.org/odcc/2005_ODSS.htm.
A RACING DEDUCTIBLE KEEPS THE COSTS DOWN
A lot of people ask about the higher racing deductible. The answer is quite simple. There are more claims while racing. As a result, some insurance companies are getting out of insuring any boats that race. The New Hampshire Insurance Company underwrites the One Design Program and understands the racing risks. A higher deductible helps to keep premiums down by having the owner assume more of the risk while racing. To get a quote and buy online: go to www.gowrie.com/onedesign.
