Bay area Swift builder/sailors (Patrick, Robert, Mike, Neil and Ken),
I received this email from Paul OSullivan this evening. In my response, I
asked Paul for permission to forward his email to the class.
Direct contact with other California builders should help to continue a good
start on the fleet down there. With the Vancouver and Seattle fleets coming
of age, California will be a great addition to the west coast regatta
circuit. It was disappointing to have to move the Huntington regatta this
year,
however, I think I can safely promise a trailer load of Swifts from the
Northwest to come down for a regatta and clinic next season when Patrick and
Robert
(and Paul if he's done) have their boats ready to go.
By the way, our best wishes go out to Ken as he fights his health battle.
Ken has done a great deal for the class--even as he has struggled with this
terrible disease.
Best regards,
Bram

contacts in the bay area /osullivan |
Bram, good evening , let me introduce my self ,I am the perfect Swift
sailor, 58 years old ex Fireball sailor from England looking to rekindle
the passion ,who always wanted to build wooden boats , And I find my
laser really boring !. I now live in Sacramento, I have been following
the Swift since before the Wooden Boat article, and I am now ready to
take the plunge and build a swift. I am an executive in a commercial
real estate development company with no spare time, so I am looking to
make the building process as simple, quick and painless as possible, so
I have found someone to help me build the boat...what I would like is
if you could pass me the contact information of people building swifts
in the bay area so I can chat to them about the process , local
suppliers of materials etc.reuse of back bone and frames (of course
paying you your design fees etc , and generally pool information with
the goal of simplifying the process. So that I can get afloat this
season ...Can you Help??
