Some have had trouble with the jib either hanging up (in light air) or
wearing on the launcher throat cheek blocks for the jib sheeting system.
These
attached pictures show how to solve that issue.
The first pilot holes are 1/4" diameter and are located with calipers so
that the launched throat cross section is just a bit thicker than the depth of
the thru leads. After drilling the pilots holes, drill only the top throat
surface with a bit big enough for the thru leads to fit into.
Next, dig out some of the foam all around the inside of the holes with a
drill bit (about 1/4" all around the hole but all of the foam between holes).
Then put duct tape over the holes inside of the launcher throat and fill the
holes pretty full of epoxy and silica for a filler (about like heavy cream).
Stuff a foam chip inside the each of the fairleads and install one of them in
the first hole. Roughly calculate how much the epoxy level raised and suck
out or add more before inserting the last fairlead. After the epoxy cures,
remove the duck tape and use the proper diameter drill to clean out the hole
in the fairleads. Bevel the hole edges inside the throat and run the line as
shown.
this system provide a safe surface for the jib foot to travel across.

Bram
