But, before bonding the trunk in place, I put a shim around the inside edges of the trunk insert. When I go back and route out the trunk hole, this shim will provide a very small gap between the edge of the hull and the inside edge of the trunk (which is good, you want that). The shim is just an old Cheerios box, wrapped in plastic tape and then taped to the inside edge with rolled packing tape. More power to Cheerios! The wide (trailing) end is 7/8" high, and the narrow (leading) end is 1/2" high.
