For everyone about to work on your bow and to reiterate what has been  said a 
number of times before:
 
The bow template is a useless piece of particle board and paper  until it is 
cut out and put on the centerline of the boat.  You will  learn nothing by 
leaning it against the boat before cutting it out since it is  neither on the 
centerline nor vertical.
