Yeah, mine is glassed. Oh well.
2" tape was in short supply when i bought mine stock, so I have 1 1/2"
as well. On the transom bar, I just wrapped it around and all seems
well. For the various spots on the hull, I'm generally using two
widths to get a 3" width.
I probably wouldn't bother with a strip down the chine; the spots
where it's used in the interior of the hull are under tension load,
and I don't think the chine would be subjected to that kind of load.
