Christian,

I did what you said, sort of.  I put a cedar strip between the hull and the 
cradle, tightened a strap from the top of the flair to the bottom of the 
cradle, then slipped a 2X4 in between.  That did the trick!  

By the way do you live in Hamptom VA?
