The center hole in the vertical tang on the 49er part is where the forestay is normally attached. Therefore the measurement is made from the bearing surface of the forestay attachment point. If you are using a NYC Skiffs forestay fitting it makes complete sense to use the bearing surface of the forestay attachment point. Greg. ----- Original Message ----- From: Rob DesMarais, D.C.
