Good image Rob,
How long was that thread rod?
Another option I used was a handheld laser sighting from above the forestay
(36") through the holes of the jib track to a white sheet of paper on the
deck.(My eyesight being myopic.) I used the small clamps on short bars attached
to
the track to each side in a similar fashion also as a weighted fulcrum. I
adjusted the lenght of the bar resting on the deck to give me the correct
angle.you can add the appropriate wedge for height at the ends of the track
pivot
points. Then secure. I'm sure there are many other ways, just adding my two
cents.

12â clamps on each side (see picture) do an excellent job holding the tract
while you sight it. (36â up from forestay fitting) Wedges on each end can
move forward and aft while you fine tune it. The clamps can move toward the
center line if you donât have enough height or outward to decrease the height.
