What are we using for the absorbent layer of cotton cloth? Something like a
sheet or a terry cloth towel?

  Robert and all,

Your point is a really important issue. "Make your tiller so it breaks
before your transom bar".

Also, each and every time you lend out your boat, you must show the new
sailor how to hoist the kite and threaten him with severe violence if you catch
him standing while hoisting the kite. You must especially make this threat to
experienced skiff and 505 sailors. These guys will "know better" and when the
kite fills the acceleration will knock them on their asses (and on your tiller)
at which time something has got to give. When this happens, you must take the
broken end of the tiller and beat them about the head and shoulders (you'll be
sorry you made it so light).

  Best regards,

  Bram
