Rob,

I took a pair of tin snips and made an inch or so cut every 6" then grabbed it 
with a pair of pliers and removed it in 6" strips around the blade.

  Any tricks to getting this stuff off?  I have one edge of the stuff clamped 
to a bench with a couple of other c-clamps on the other side and pulling like 
hell and it barely budges.  There is no chance of breaking the blade, right?
