Originally Bram was using a shroud spacer. 'U' shaped with holes for pins. I
noticed that on "A Series of Unfortunate Events" he had a small block with
on a track so he could adjust it while on the water.

 

The tube would probably work but my concern, though slight, would be that it
would not bond well to the glue and twist out at some later date. Things
that are very smooth and uniform in shape don't tend to like to stay where
you put them. It would also be a good idea to use the same metal as the pin
on the gooseneck. This would reduce the electrolysis.

What are we using for the outhaul rack on the boom, didn't see it on the
list for fisheries?  Can I use a stainless tube for the goose neck receiver
bonded in the boom?
