Guys,
For fitting placements I simply lay a flexible straight edge across the
staple holes and move forward 1/4" (there are no significant fittings aft in
the
boat where you change over to the other side). That is plenty close enough
for fittings. I remember that station 6 is just forward of the mast step and
station eight is at the aft end of the trunk. If a set of fittings are
supposed to be placed at 56 P&S find the center of the average staple holes at
station 5, subtract 4 inches plus 1/4, and place the fitting. I never have to
measure more than 6 inches that way.
