The strips should continue fair from section 2 through 1 and touch 1/2, at the waterline I think. If this is the case they should intersect at the bow line. There will be a slightly hollow region at the knuckle. You can fill that crescent with a piece of laminate and build up the sides with peanutbutter before glassing the bottom.
