Geoff,

Just wanted to thank you for getting me in touch with Ali. I have no
experience with racing, and would have been completely lost trying to order
these types of things thru someone who didn't race themselves. If anyone
else out there is on the same spot of the learning curve I would highly
recommend talking to Ali, he spent about an hour between yesterday and today
helping me.

Mark

My favorites are:
http://www.fawcettboat.com/index.htm
(ask for Ali Meller if you call, he's a 505 sailor and is very helpful)
Clothing->Foul Weather Gear->Gill
and
http://www.apsltd.com/

Last spring I bought a new wetsuit (to replace a 22 year old BodyGlove
farmer-john). On Ali's advice I got the Gill lighter-weight "Short
Arm Summer Wetsuit" and a GlideSkin top to go over it on colder days.
I was a bit hesitant about the effectiveness in the near-freezing
spring water here in Wisconsin, but it worked quite well. At one
regatta I wore both pieces of neoprene with some lightweight polypro
long underwear underneath. I spent most of the day in the getup and a
few hours *in* the water recovering capsized boats (a big front came
through) and the only time I got cold was standing around on shore
between rescues.

Cheers,

Geoff S.
