Time certainly needs to be factored in there. As much time as it took me to
find and get quotes for rough cedar to save a few bucks I could had built
the boat. Kidding. (I live in Arkansas, need I say more?) I ended up
begrudgingly buying the strips and it cost me ten times what Bram mentioned
in the Wood Boat article but having them all done uniformly and without the
couple of weekends ripping, planning and routing (I had all the tools I
needed) I'm thrilled with them. Outsourcing or subcontracting some of the
work isn't always bad.
