Hey Bill I will leave it to Bram to give measurements, but the best thing I did was to make the new adjustable sleeve on the mast, then you have 'n' degrees of freedom to adjust the height and angle of the lever. The arm is in pure tension/ compression, unless it is smacked sideways on a half raised centreboard through an unintentional tack or jibe.
