Hi Kerem
I may be the culprit for the step to CST.
I went to them because they are in Oz and they have worked very closely with
my sailmaker developing rigs for 14's for years. Be aware Carbontech in NZ
may well be worth looking at as well. I believe they are cheaper (for low
modulus carbon) and very high quality, but you will have to do some rig
development.
I have built the double spreader rig (my boat is finished - just awaiting
sails and signwriting). I did it for the reasons Christian specified. To
keep the lower column in section and to allow the tip to respond better.
With regards Brams comments about the boat being easier to sail without the
lower spreaders, you can achieve this in a double spreader rig by not
carrying too much poke (too longa' spreaders) on the lower set.
Hopefully I will get some sailing soon and send some photo's so you can see
how the rig behaves.

Subject: Forte or CST Mast - Verdict out yet?
Hi everyone,
First off wishing you all a great regatta and social gathering soon at Fort
Desoto. I am following through the developments with envy waiting for the
day when I can join you all in a similar get together.
Will start ordering supplies soon and wanted to know if the Forte or CST
mast, single or double spreader verdict is out yet. I am very much
interested to see if any of the builders pursuing the CST + double spreader
approach has put their boats on the water and their results.
I look forward to getting some feedback.
Thanks & Best Regards,
Kerem
