Thanks Keith and Mark, I'm sure we all appreciate the effort of those who can
get together to make the next great regatta possible.

The time frame for the NA regatta will depend of course on the place, but
since its not florida it is likely to be at least June or July, whether its in
the High Sierras or somewhere else. I'm sure we all dont want to wait any
longer than necessary but thats still 10 months from now, so I think we have
the luxury of time to do a diligent search for a great place we may be able to
come back to in future years, and that suits as many people as possible. Could
be we have multiple regattas or use some of these places for coast
championships. That time frame is plenty of time for me to plan my holidays and
I hope everyone else too. I usually cant see more than 4 months ahead anyway.

We have had quite good regattas on the east coast that were organised in Fort
Desoto by Bram. Im sure I'll be back to Tampa Bay again. Notwithstanding Brams
prior effort, I think it would be very nice for a bunch of other class members
to get together and help make the regatta a sucess with an even better turnout.
Bram is right though about the tubs, we should try to keep away from tubs, but
the Musto fleet worked well with us last regatta and I would love to have them
back again, being on the line with other single and even double trap skiffs
would be fine by me. I dont think we are going in the direction of laser fleets
for quite a while. We can hope though. Nothing wrong with is sticking to our
own individual start at any regatta either as we will likley have plenty for OD
starts.

When the regatta committee gets it together I'll send the proposals mentioned
for trap skiff only fleets. Maybe you would want to look into them and see if
any are helpful. If we are going to go to a place with no local sailing
infrastructure again, just a thought has any one sailed in Montana? or the
Dakotas? s'posed to be scenic there, my kids would rather go there than DeSoto
again, lucy will bring her sparkly red shoes to KS :-).

Finally the skiff group here in Sandy Hook is growing fast with the addition of
more trap skiffs (14s and and 29er) and Al and I and a buddy have bought a
spare single/double handed skiff for the beach here at Sandy Hook, We'll do a
clinic and some regattas in the spring and summer too, anyone coming through
NYC feel free to drop bye and take it for a ride, on us.

Thanks again to those pitching in to help organize the regatta and good luck.
Regards Greg

  Greg and all,

I would be glad to help organize next years event. I believe there are some
good locations in Kansas, and it doesn't get much more central than that.
